He previously practiced with the New Hampshire law firm of Devine, Millimet & Branch and was a partner of Cohn Khoury Madoff & Whitesell LLP of Boston.

Mr. Khoury is a member of the Real Estate Bar Association and a former co-chair and current member of the public policy committee of the bankruptcy section of the Boston Bar Association.

Case law

Selected decisions

  • Brandt v. Hicks, Muse & Co. (In re Healthco International), 195 B.R. 971 (Bankr. D. Mass. 1996). Counsel to the Chapter 7 trustee in litigation arising from the leveraged buyout of Healthco. The court largely denied motions to dismiss brought by the company’s financial advisor and a controlling shareholder, rejecting forum selection and securities safe harbor defenses.
  • In re Healthco International, 174 B.R. 174 (Bankr. D. Mass. 1994). Counsel to the Chapter 7 trustee. Over a county’s objection, the court authorized the sale of estate real estate free and clear of the county’s tax lien.
